Parallel Worlds

Matthieu Bourel:
I am going to try to do something like this....

My Go:

I really enjoyed doing this, because i had to try and make it look odd, and different. I think that it was quite easy.

Artist Research

Christina Verienti:
I like her work, because it could have many different meanings, so maybe showing peoples emotions, and it is really different.

My Go:
I really enjoyed doing this, because it is quite different, and i was able to use different filters, and that made each photo different.

Artist Research

Stephen Sheffield:
Stephen Sheffield was born in Boston, and attended Cornell University, where he obtained a BFA in painting and mixed media. He also attended the California College of the arts.

Influenced by crime novels and past eras, he constructs iconic moments of mystery and male insecurity. Often, the model is wearing a black suit and hat, and is standing, crouching or turning. The figure will sometimes be blurred from movement, heightening the sense of surrounding stillness.

I like his work, because it is all based on the same person, it is always a man in a suit, and i think that that makes the work tell you a bit about the person. I like the way it is blurry, this sort of shows us that the model is frustrated or angry.

My Go:
I tried to do it, but i realised that the lighting was too bright, so it would not work, if i have another chance to do this, i will change the lighting.

Artist Research Homework

Alex Castro:
Alex Castro is a Mexican Photographer and Graphic Designer.
I like the way he has taken photos of people, and he has used Photoshop to put animals heads on them.

Liu Bolin:
Liu Bolin is a Chinese artist, who earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Shandong College of Arts in 1995 and his Master of Fine Arts from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing in 2001. His work has been exhibited in museums around the world.
I like the way he has made people blend into random Photographs of things, like shelves, diggers, and a wall. I think that this is really creative, and it really makes people look closely into the photos, because when you first see it, you would think that it is just a normal photo, but when you look closely, you can see that someone is stood there.

Taylor James:
I think that some of Taylor James' work looks quite odd, but it is quite creative, because it is showing different people sort of escaping. this could mean many things, like they are escaping bad things, or changing the way they are, and that this work could really mean many things.

Vikor Koen:
I like his work, because it is odd, and different. It shows a mix of nature and the modern world. I also like it, because he has used many random objects to create different small creatures.

Reflection

What did I enjoy and why?
I enjoyed doing the stitch portrait and the full landscape stitch, because i liked using different effects and filters on each different photo. I also enjoyed doing the fragmentation, and using the different colours and shapes to make the image more interesting. I also enjoyed doing the macro and miniatures, because i liked making the small objects seem bigger.

What skills do I need to work on or improve?
I think that i could work on using the manual settings on a camera, and using photoshop, because i feel that i need to get better at editing photos.

What did i not enjoy and why?
I didn't really enjoy doing the stop motion animation, because i feel that it took a lot of time, and that it was really hard to do.

Selfie Project

For this, i took a photo of myself in a mirror, and took a separate photo of my hand, then, i put the photo of my hand on top of my photo, to make it look as if it was just my reflection.

If i did this again, i would show that it is a reflection more, this would make my work a lot better!
