Parallel Worlds Development

For this, i took photographs of a typewriter and a new keyboard, and made the reflection in the orb the new keyboard. i did this, to show how technology has changed.

I also copied and pasted different sections, and moved them around slightly....

Changing eye colour

I really enjoyed doing this, and am very happy with how it turned out. I did find it a little confusing, because i had to use a few tools that i hadn't worked with before, but now i feel quite confident using them.

Parallel Worlds

Matthieu Bourel:
I am going to try to do something like this....

My Go:

I really enjoyed doing this, because i had to try and make it look odd, and different. I think that it was quite easy.

Maykel Lima:
I am going to try and do something like this....

My Go:

I enjoyed ding this one, because i had not used the liquify tool before, but i did find it quite hard to get it right, and make it look good.

Artist Research

Christina Verienti:
I like her work, because it could have many different meanings, so maybe showing peoples emotions, and it is really different.

My Go:
I really enjoyed doing this, because it is quite different, and i was able to use different filters, and that made each photo different.

Artist Research

Stephen Sheffield:
Stephen Sheffield was born in Boston, and attended Cornell University, where he obtained a BFA in painting and mixed media. He also attended the California College of the arts.

Influenced by crime novels and past eras, he constructs iconic moments of mystery and male insecurity. Often, the model is wearing a black suit and hat, and is standing, crouching or turning. The figure will sometimes be blurred from movement, heightening the sense of surrounding stillness.

I like his work, because it is all based on the same person, it is always a man in a suit, and i think that that makes the work tell you a bit about the person. I like the way it is blurry, this sort of shows us that the model is frustrated or angry.

My Go:
I tried to do it, but i realised that the lighting was too bright, so it would not work, if i have another chance to do this, i will change the lighting.

Artist Research Homework

Alex Castro:
Alex Castro is a Mexican Photographer and Graphic Designer.
I like the way he has taken photos of people, and he has used Photoshop to put animals heads on them.

Liu Bolin:
Liu Bolin is a Chinese artist, who earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Shandong College of Arts in 1995 and his Master of Fine Arts from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing in 2001. His work has been exhibited in museums around the world.
I like the way he has made people blend into random Photographs of things, like shelves, diggers, and a wall. I think that this is really creative, and it really makes people look closely into the photos, because when you first see it, you would think that it is just a normal photo, but when you look closely, you can see that someone is stood there.

Taylor James:
I think that some of Taylor James' work looks quite odd, but it is quite creative, because it is showing different people sort of escaping. this could mean many things, like they are escaping bad things, or changing the way they are, and that this work could really mean many things.

Vikor Koen:
I like his work, because it is odd, and different. It shows a mix of nature and the modern world. I also like it, because he has used many random objects to create different small creatures.

Parallel Worlds

(of lines, planes, or surfaces) side by side and having the same distance continuously between them.

occurring or existing at the same time or in a similar way; corresponding

Parallel Comparison:

Reflection

What did I enjoy and why?
I enjoyed doing the stitch portrait and the full landscape stitch, because i liked using different effects and filters on each different photo. I also enjoyed doing the fragmentation, and using the different colours and shapes to make the image more interesting. I also enjoyed doing the macro and miniatures, because i liked making the small objects seem bigger.

What skills do I need to work on or improve?
I think that i could work on using the manual settings on a camera, and using photoshop, because i feel that i need to get better at editing photos.

What did i not enjoy and why?
I didn't really enjoy doing the stop motion animation, because i feel that it took a lot of time, and that it was really hard to do.

Selfie Project

For this, i took a photo of myself in a mirror, and took a separate photo of my hand, then, i put the photo of my hand on top of my photo, to make it look as if it was just my reflection.

If i did this again, i would show that it is a reflection more, this would make my work a lot better!

Selfie Project

I like this, because the reflections carry on and get smaller, also, it looks like it is spiralling down. This suggests that the man likes to make it perfect, because it would have been hard no make the black bit in the middle all join up to make it look connected.

I like this one, because it is reflection the girl in the sunglasses. It shows the beach, and the sunglasses, and they usually represent sun, and summer.

I like this, because it only shows the mans feet on the mirror, and in the reflection, it shows his whole body and him taking the photo.

My Ideas:
I could also, take a photo in a mirror, and do something like the man did with the shoes in the image above.

Photography Challenge

Ground Level:

We had to take a photo of something at ground level, so we decided to take a picture os the grass and
flowers from ground level.
I think that this was a success, but it is a little blurry, so we could have taken a little more time to focus the camera and make the shot more clear.

Patterns In Nature:

We had to look for different patterns in nature, so we decided to do this leaf, because it has many patterns in it.
I think that it was a success, but i could have gotten closer, to make it more clear of the pattern in the leaf. Also, for this, we changed to camera setting to macro, to make it more clear and close up.

Looking Down:

For this, we had to take the photo from above, looking down. We decided to take a photo of our feet.
I think it was a success, but we could have been a little bit more creative with it.

Framing With Nature:

For this, we had to look for an area, where we could use nature as a frame, so we took a photo of the school field with the trees and bushes around it as a frame.
I think that this was a success.

Hand Stars:

For this, we had to make our hands into stars. It was quite hard to do, because we only had three of us in a group, this means that we only had two people to make the stars.
It was successful, but we could have zoomed out a little, so we could het all the hands in clearly.

Looking Up:

For this, Kylie had to lie on the ground and take a picture looking up at us.
I think that his was very successful.

Jump Photo:

For this, we had to take a photo of people jumping in the air. We put the camera on a different setting, to take loads of photos.
I think that this one was very successful, because we are both in the air, and it is a very clear shot.

Horseman Plank:

For this, Kylie had to tilt her head right back, to make it look like her head wasn't there, and Keliegh had to pop her head up, to make it look like her head was off her body!
I think that this was succesful, but we could have ,ad it look a little better, by Kylie holding Kelieghs head or hair.

Giants And Monsters:

For this, we had to make it look like Keliegh was holding Kylie. This one was VERY hard to do!
I think that this one could have been better, because we could have made it look a little bit more realistic.

Reflection:

For this, we had to use a reflection, so we used the mirror in the toilets, to take a photo of Kylie.
I think that this was a success.
